What is xD Picture Card?
xD Picture card is a type of flash memory used mainly in older Olympus and Fujifilm digital cameras. As of 2010, xD cards are available in capacities of 16MB up to 2GB. The Olympus xD-Picture Card offers compatibility with most manufacturers’ xD-compatible devices and is the only xD-Picture Card to support the Panorama function found with today’s Olympus digital cameras.
What is the difference between Type H and Type M xD Picture Cards?
The Type M card uses multi-level cell (MLC) architecture to achieve larger capacities. The Type H card offers higher data rates than Type M cards. A Type M+ card was released in 2008 and offers data rates 1.5 times that of the Type M cards.
