What is a Life-Cycle Assessment? Why would it be Helpful?-This is simply the Life of the Product that is Split in Stages, from Raw Materials to Manufacturing to Usage and then to Disposal -This may help to see how much Impact it has on the Environment
Materials and Manufacturing. What happens here and is there any Difficulties?-Metals need ton be Mined and Extracted, making it Expensive and Energy Intense. Pollution may be Made -Chemical Manufacture may use Crude Oil - a Non-Renewable Source which is Shrinking Rapidly -Manufacturing simply takes Effort and also Pollution like maybe Carbon Monoxide or Hydrochloric Acid. -Waste may be Made which can be very Draining to deal with - although it can be Wasted meaning the Environment is less Hit
Transporting. What happens here and is there any Difficulties?-This is simply taking the Products where it needs to be Used -This will, shockingly, need Energy so Companies need to think of the Best Way to Transport their Products [Business GCSE!!!]
Product Use. What happens here and is there any Difficulties?-Even using the Product may Impact the Environment -Paint can give Toxic Smells -Burning Fuels will release Greenhouse Gases and More -Fertilisers can find itself into the Rivers and Streams which will affect the local Biodiversity
Disposal. What happens here and is there any Difficulties?-This is simply dealing with the Product After its been Damaged or you have Completed using it -Usually dumped in Landfill - which will create Visual, Water and Air Pollution -Products may also be Burnt [Incinerated] which will cause Air Pollution -Products may also be Recycled which will Conserve the Raw Materials.
