What Economic Opportunities do Glaciers Provide?1. Farming of Animals. Crops in Steep Slopes and Poor Soils don't really do well, so Animals, like Sheep, are best here. Crops can be grown Lower Down, that can be used to feed the Animals 2. Forestry. CF are mostly common here, as it can go against the Cold and Wet Climate. These Trees are used for Building and Paper 3. Quarrying. Glacial Erosion has meant lots of Rocks can be easily Used to Mine. Slate, Granite and Limestone is the most common. 4. Tourism. Glaciation can make Beautiful Landscapes, and also provide lots of Activities like Climbing to Skiing.
How can Conflicts arise for Glacial Landscapes?2 Examples: -Tourists can make Farming more Difficult as they might Damage the Farmland, or Disrupt the Gates meaning Life is more Harder. Farmers, in return, may Block Footpaths -Residents may moan about Noise Pollution due to the Quarry, and the Logistics of it. Visual Pollution can also happen as they look Ugly, reducing Tourist Levels
Why are Conservationists against Development?-So it can be Amazing to Develop on Glacial Landscapes - Wales' Three National Parks made around £500 Million in 2018 -They can also give out Renewable Energy, to combat Climate Change. [Glyn Rhonwy] -But Conservationists say that it destroys Habitats and stops Tourists. Farming will also ruin the Environment, as Vegetation is Removed -Conservationists also don't like Coniferous Plantations, as little Species is Supported - they don't like Deforestation as Habitats are Removed -Conservationists say Infrastructure is Useless as it ruins the Natural Image, but others say it makes it Easy to Move around
