level questions: Energy in the United Kingdom

QuestionAnswer
How was the UK Energy Divided up and how has it Changed?-UK has, in the Past, Relied on Fossil Fuels - 91% in 1970 -But then 1980 saw Gas Reserves in the North Sea Discovered - 22% of UK Energy by Gas -Now Renewable Energy is starting to Increase - 19% in 2014 saw Renewable Energy [Wind & Bio-Energy] and also 2025 will see no more Coal Fired Stations
What is Happening to the UK's Supply of Coal, Oil and Gas?-Since 2000, North Sea has had its Oil and Gas Reserves being used Up - and Production has gone Down -Coal Production has Massively Decreased since mid 20th Century as because of Reducing CO2 Emissions and Mining Costs going Up. 2015 saw the last Coal Mine Closing up. -Fracking, bad method, is also being Used up However to try and Replenish the Amounts
What are the Economic Issues with Extracting and Using Fossil Fuels, and the Production of Electricity?-Can be Expensive to Extract and is Increasing due to Reserves used -North Sea Oil is Expensive to Make - if Price of Oil Drops then it would not gain a Profit -It will take Time and Money to find Other Methods for Energy - like Nuclear and Renewable -UK will have to Pay to make sure Energy is Secure because the UK doesn't make Enough.
What are the Environmental Issues with Extracting and Using Fossil Fuels, and the Production of Electricity?-Fossil Fuels will make Carbon Dioxide. Obviously a no -Fracking may see Groundwater being Polluted and Mini Earthquakes - like the 2.9 outside Blackpool -Accidents, like Nuclear Waste, will lead to Pollutions and Waste -Renewable Generators can Damage Natural Ecosystems eg Birds and Wind Turbines -Visual Pollution - NIMBY
