What is Photosynthesis?
When green plants convert light energy into chemical energy. The light energy is used to convery carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose.
Stages of Fertilization - Part 2
Inside the ovule the pollen fuses with the ovum After fertilization seeds are formed which will be dispersed in many different ways.
Equation of Photosynthesis
Carbon dioxide + water -^- oxygen + glucose
Stages of Fertilization - Part 2
Inside the ovule the pollen fuses with the ovum After fertilization seeds are formed which will be dispersed in many different ways.
Pholem
Speciliased cells that transports glucose from the leaves to the rest of the plant, including the stems and roots
Stages of Fertilization - Part 2
Inside the ovule the pollen fuses with the ovum After fertilization seeds are formed which will be dispersed in many different ways.
Xylem
Specialised tissue that transports water from the roots to the rest of the plant.
Guard cells
These cells control the size of the opening called the stomata
Stomata
Gases such as Oxygen, Hydrogen and Cabron Dioxide diffuse through these openings. They are used for gas exchange, thoe Carbon dioxide comes in and the oxygen comes out.
Pollination
The transfer of pollen from the anther of one plant to the stigma of another using a pollinator
Fertilization
The fusion of a male and female gamete (sex cells)
How petals attract pollinators
Petals are usually colourful to attract pollinators such as insects or birds. Insects are more attracted to the perfume let out by the plant
Stages of Pollination - Part 1
Pollinators are attracted to flower by either colour or scent
Stages of Pollination - Part 2
Pollinators reach deep into the flower to get the nectar for themselves, which is food for them. As the enter the flower, pollen from the anther gets rubbed onto them.
Stages of Pollination - Part 3
Pollinators move to different flower to get more nectar. As they enter next flower, the pollen from the flower before get rubbed onto the stigma of the new flower.
Stages of Fertilization - Part 1
Pollen grains get stuck on stigma after pollination A pollen tube starts to grow donw towards the ovary.
Stages of Fertilization - Part 2
Inside the ovule the pollen fuses with the ovum After fertilization seeds are formed which will be dispersed in many different ways.
