Dark mode preferences are not being saved

When I open the website, it always starts with the dark mode. I switch it off in my profile settings, but every time I visit the website it still uses the dark mode. Is there any way to make this preference saved for a user profile?

Good point, right now we are not saving dark mode in user settings.
Currently we determine dark/light mode base on the desktop/mobile preferences upon login, without regard to changes.
Clearly, this is not ideal.
We will improve this so the setting is saved, and thanks for the feedback.
If you may, please provide us details with your login device so we can ensure the fix is operational on this.
The reason we don't have default setting is to ascertain most common preference to determine the optimal ongoing default.
for anyone with passing interest, it's 67.4% choosing dark, 32.6% light -- today's excitement for a database guy.
as above, will add the facility to remember the user preference on login but this will be in next release
