<0>IntroductionThe instructions below may sound complicated but, in practice, usage should be fairly straight forward. Things only become complicated when you are creating multi-directional routings between chapters or levels. This acts as more as a reference than a general guide.<2><3><4>Creating 'routings'Routings are optional. If you do not wish to have routings and paths, you may skip this step. This means any user will be able to enter any chapter or course without unlocking it.<6><7>The term 'parent' refers to a chapter or level which is routed FROM.<9>The term 'child' or 'children' refers to the chapter(s) or level(s) which are routed TO.<11>The term 'node' refers to either a chapter or level, identified by the individual circles on the screen.<13><14>By adding routings, the levels which are routed to will be automatically until all of the categories 'from' are complete. Levels and chapters can be rerouted in different directions. Note that users may also unlock chapters at any time by using credits. There is currently no facility to disable this.<16><17>Primary nodes can be routed to a maximum of 4 'children'. If a 'child' has more than 1 'parents', both parents must be unlocked to receive access to the child. The deeper the tree, the less routings each parent can have. This is to avoid having very wide trees.<19><20>Secondary nodes can have a maximum of 2 children<22><23>Routings can be removed by clicking on the routing itself on the graphical interface.<25><26>Our system aims to make it impossible to make routings that are invalid. But, if you do experience an error during routing, it may be best to click 'clear all routings' and start again. An example of an invalid routing is a circular routing where a child routes back to its parent. We are working on improving this functionality to make it impossible to add an invalid routing.<28><29>In the event of you not being able to add routings in any way, please contact support@memory.com<31>Explanation of XP Heatmap and colorsClick 'show XP heatmap' to show the XP earned graphically in each node.<33><34>The colors of the circles are based on the amount of XP earned by users in either the chapter or the course. When you have many levels and chapters, you will be able to see the 'flow' of users and where XP is most earned, and which chapters / levels users tend to get stuck at or avoid. Green means a high area of XP, orange and red show lesser. The amount and percentage of XP earned is visible in the overlaying black box.<36><37>Currently, XP shown in the boxes is set to XP of all users in the past 30 days.<39>Other notes<40><0>If you are working on a language course, the amount of questions may appear to be doubled - this represents the questions being asked in both directions, e.g. from target language to base language.<1>This screen is not designed to be mobile friendly. You should use a desktop computer ideally.<2>Whilst you can alter the routing at any time, if a course has already been used by users, it is not recommended to change the orders of chapters or levels. This is because a user may have unlocked the level, and if it then is routed in a different direction it may be unlocked and become confusing to the user.<3>Each course and chapter should only have one node as the 'entry point'. All courses and chapters must be started with only 1 initial chapter or level.<4>If you get completely stuck, or end up with reverse routings and the tree fails to load, you must select to remove all routings and start again.<5>If you are creating lots of routes with multiple dependencies, it is easy to accidentally create a 'cob-web' of routings where it becomes confusing to users. We recommend keeping routings simple.<6>If you route chapters and levels, more XP will be awarded to users the deeper they go in the tree.<7>The first entry, e.g. chapter 1 or the first level within a chapter, must be the primary from which other categories descend. It can have multiple children, but can be the only primary parent and entry point. There is currently no ability to change the primary node.<8>Currently, there is no ability to move a level to a different chapter.
