QuestionAnswer
Why is pressure cause in a liquid/It is caused due to the particles in the liquid moving around and bumping into the sides with speed.
What does this Pressure cause? It causes a net-force at Right Angles to All surfaces. It is equally spread out.
What's the formula for Water Pressure. [Fluid Pressure]Force normal to a Surface [N] Pressure [Pa] =--------------------------------------- Area of that Surface [m²]
Are Liquids compressible or not? They are not compressible. If a force is applied to one point of a fluid, they will be a net force transmitted to other parts of the liquid.
Are Hydraulics Force Multipliers?Yes. They use a small input force to generate a bigger force
How can we use that for our example? [Force Multipliers]We can create s small area tube with a piston. We have another piston on the other side which will be lifted from the water. How? We put a force in to create pressure. Water has to spread it out, and will push against the second piston for a bigger force. More Pressure = More force. If you had to find out force it would be: Force [N] = Pressure [Pa] x Area [m²]
