level questions: Atmospheric Pressure and Liquid Pressure

QuestionAnswer
What is Atmospheric Pressure? Why can't we Feel this Pressure?-This is simply the Atmosphere Exerting a Pressure Everywhere on You. This happens because of the Weight of the Air. -The Reason we can't feel it is because its acting Everywhere in Equal Directions, therefore no Net Force on any one Side.
Why can the Latitude affect how much Atmospheric Pressure there is? What happens if your at: 1. Sea Level 2. Mount Everest-Because Pressure is affected with How Much Atmosphere is Above you. Lower Down = More Atmosphere. 1. At Sea Level then you Experience around 100,000 Pa, as because there's more 'Air' Above you, meaning more Weight that's Compressing the Air Below. And at Sea Level you have a lot of Air Above you. 2. Mount Everest is very High Up, meaning there is Less Air Above you, meaning less Weight that's Compressing the Air Below. Its around 33,000 Pa.
Why is the Graph for Atmospheric Pressure against Elevation a Curve?-This is because AP is affected by the Density of the Atmosphere, that itself is Affected by the Height. So Height Influences the AP Twice
What does it mean if Liquids can NOT be Compressed?-This simply means the Density of the Liquid will be the Same Everywhere
How can you Find out the Pressure at a Depth, due to a Liquid?Pressure due to a Column of Liquid [Pa] = Height of Column [m] x Density of Liquid [kg/m³] x Gravitational Field Strength [N/kg]
What is the Upward Force that a Liquid will Exert on any Object? What is it Dependent on?-This is called the Upthrust. The Amount it Exerts is Dependent on how much Water has been Displaced - Moved.
So if an Object wants to Float, what does it need to Achieve? Why?-For an Object to Float, its Density must be LOWER than the Density of the Liquid. -This is because it will Displace a Volume of Water that is Equal to its Own Weight, before its Submerged. So: Upwards Force = Weight for the Object.
