level questions: The Solar System and Orbits

QuestionAnswer
What are: 1. Planets 2. Minor Planets 3. NATURAL Satellites 4. ARTIFICIAL Satellites1. Very Large Objects that Orbit a Star. Planets in the Solar System are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus & Neptune 2. Also Planet like that Orbit Stars but still don't fit the Criteria for a Planet - Pluto!! 3. Simply Natural Objects that orbit Planets. We have the Moon 4. Simply Man Made Objects that have their own Orbits.
Explain what is Meant by Satellites in Geostationary Orbits? What is it Useful for?-They contain a High Orbit over the Earth's Equator and Orbit every 24 Hours -They will always stay Above on the Same Point on the Earth's Surface, as because Earth will Rotate with them -They are Useful for TV, Telephone or Radio, as they always Sit on the Same Point Above Earth, so its Easy to Point Transmitters and Receivers at them. Also its Stupid Quick.
Explain what is Meant by Satellites in Polar Orbit? What is it Useful for?-They have a Lower Orbit then Geo Satellites and Sweep both of the Poles as the Earth Rotates -Them being much Closer will allow them to Move Faster. So they orbit every 2 Hours. -And these Orbits are Short makes it so Practical for Weathering, Mapping & Surveillance as they can Scan the Next bit of the Globe as it Orbits meaning Earth can Monitored Daily.
How can Gravity be the Reason for Orbits to Occur?-An Object to Accelerate needs a Force. And an Object Moving in a Circle - the Force [Centripetal] is going Towards the Centre. This is what Gravity does -Now, The reason why we haven't gone inside the Sun is because we are Moving. So this Centripetal Force makes us Change Directions -And its Velocity of the Object is always at Right Angles to the Acceleration. This makes a Circle
What is Needed for an Orbit to stay Stable?-Its all about the Speed. If it goes too Fast then the Object will Fly Off but too Slow will have it Pulled into the Centre. -If the Speed of the Object Changes, then the Orbit of the Object must also Change else it will Not be Stable. [Slower Objects need a Larger Radius. The Opposite is also True]
