Question:

Talk in general about the morphology of neurons.

Author: H K

Answer:

The neuron has a particular morphology: it is constituted by a cell body (perikaryon or soma) from which two types of processes emerge: the dendrites and the axon. A plasma membrane (or axolemma) covers the cell body and its extensions; it is the anatomical support of the propagation of nerve impulses.
