This model is said to be the first major model for communication. The model was designed by Claude Shannon and Warren Weaver in 1949 mirroring radio and telephone technologies. This model is specially designed to develop the effective communication between sender and receiver. Also they found factors which affects the communication process called “Noise”. The model deals with various concepts like Information source, transmitter, Noise, channel, message, receiver, channel, information destination, encode and decode. It is linear.
