Question:

What do different materials do with electromagnetic waves?

Author: Alana Ray

Answer:

Different materials absorb, transmit or reflect electromagnetic waves, and what happens to the waves depends on the wavelength e.g. microwaves are absorbed by food containing water molecules, although they are reflected from metals, while light waves are absorbed by black surfaces and reflected from shiny, metallic surfaces.
