- For 10 mins, the tap is left open, syringe is removed to allow apparatus to equilibrate - The respiration rate of the woodlice to stabilize in new environment - After the 10 mins, tap is closed, syringe attached - Syringe is used to reset the manometer - Record vol. scale on the syringe - As respiration occurs, air vol. of woodlice tube will decrease, due to O2 consumed in respiration
