1) Skin: contains sebaceous glands that skin too acidic for most pathogens to grow on it (by fatty and lactic acid) mucous membrane: pathogens stick to mucous and taken away by cilia, or theyre killed by lysozyme enzyme 2)phagocytes: they break down pathogens through endocytosis using enzymes from lysosomes. non-specific immunity 3) lymphocytes: they make antibodies that bind to specific antigens on antibodies. once they bind, the lymphocyte is activated and it replicates to take down the pathogen. some remain as memory cells
