Question:

Capecitabine adverse effects

Author: Suzuki

Answer:

These are similar to those with 5-FU, with the toxicity occurring primarily in the GI tract. Capecitabine should be used cautiously in patients with hepatic or renal impairment. The drug is contraindicated in individuals who are pregnant or lactating. Patients taking coumarin anticoagulants or phenytoin should be monitored for coagulation parameters and drug levels, respectively.
