What is abraham's story

God promised abraham and his wife a great nation. abraham's wife was past the age of having children but managed to fall pregnant and had a son named isaac. when isaac was a teenager God told abraham to sacrifice isaac. abraham was prepared to do it but when he was about to follow through god stopped him and told him to sacrifice a nearby ram instead. a covenant was made with abraham and he and his family would be the start of Israel
